Hey Creative,
There’s something I need to say today, and maybe you need to hear it too:
Nothing you’re building is small. Nothing you’re dreaming of is insignificant.
Not until you compare it.
We don’t mean to do it.
But it happens quietly and often.
You’re writing a blog, then you see someone launch a book.
You’re crafting a 3-minute story, and someone else is already directing a Netflix doc.
You just figured out Midjourney, and now someone’s dropping full-blown AI films.
And in an instant, what felt beautiful now feels… basic.
I’ve been there more times than I can count.
And here’s what I’m learning:
💡 Comparison is the thief of creative joy—but also of creative truth.
When we compare ourselves, we shrink.
Not because we’re not growing, but because we start measuring progress against someone else’s pace.
And worse, their platform.
But here’s the truth: every creative field matters.
Whether you’re telling stories with AI, painting in silence, building in obscurity, or posting reels with 20 views… it counts.
Your story isn’t less valid just because it’s not viral.
Your voice isn’t less valuable because it’s not loud.
✨ Use AI to enhance your vision, not someone else’s version.
This is why I lean into AI—not to create what’s trending, but to help express what I already believe more clearly, more confidently, and yes… more consistently.
AI isn’t here to make you better than someone else.
It’s here to make you more of yourself.
So here’s what I want you to do today:
Stop measuring.
Start creating.
And if you need it, step away from the feed and come back to the seed.
The work you’re doing matters.
It always has.
Don’t let comparison steal that from you.
More soon,
Samuel Arise
P.S. What’s one thing you’ve been building, quietly or slowly, that you’ve been tempted to abandon or compare? Hit reply and tell me. Let’s name it, honor it, and give it space to grow.
Comparison kills potential indeed.
I'm building a system that helps teenagers gain clarity and direction about purpose, and sometimes I feel like it's really not important. But after I read this, I've been inspired to keep building.
Thank you for this✨❤️
